Daniel Morcombe Foundation and Murphy Group announce new collaboration, Build It For The Kids

Monday 28 July 2025

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation has once again partnered with respected Sunshine Coast construction company Murphy Group to launch the second Build It For The Kids (BIFTK) charity home project.

This inspiring initiative will see a brand-new home built in The Enclave, a beautiful residential development in Maleny on the Sunshine Coast, thanks to the generous partnership with RM Developments. The home will go to auction in 2026, with 100% of profits from the sale directed to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to support child safety education, advocacy, and young victims of crime in the Sunshine Coast Community.

Right now, local trades, suppliers, and businesses are invited to be part of this meaningful project.

Bruce Morcombe said, “We need your help to make this project grow legs! If you have anything to offer, we would love to hear from you. Your donations of services or products will play a crucial role in constructing this special home and helping us build a safer future for kids.”

Denise Morcombe added, “This isn’t just about building a house, it’s about building a safer future for our children. When you get involved in Build It For The Kids, you’re directly contributing to something meaningful and we are thankful for every bit of support”

Mark Berry, Director of Murphy Builders, noted, “We require a wide range of services for home construction, from slab through to home staging and landscaping. Every contribution, big or small, matters.”

Brooke Bastien, Director of Murphy Group, said,
“We are extremely proud to partner with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. We see this as an opportunity for the Murphy Group to give back to our local community. We are hoping other businesses will join us and be recognised as champions of child safety.”

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation, established by Bruce and Denise Morcombe in honour of their son Daniel, has spent over two decades working to keep kids safe through education programs, awareness campaigns, and community support initiatives.

Murphy Builders, a long-standing local construction company with a strong community focus, is proud to once again support this important cause. The first Build It For The Kids project in 2020 raised significant funds for the Foundation, and this second collaboration promises to deliver even greater impact.

Businesses and individuals interested in contributing to the Build It For The Kids project are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest .

Bruce and Densie Morcombe will be available for interviews on Monday 28th July upon request.
