Workshops can be tailored to your education setting, including schools, Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) and Outside School Hours Care (OOSH) services, and can complement our free Understanding and Responding to Harmful Sexual Behaviours online training.
Training is trauma informed and culturally safe and can be tailored to the needs of your team and setting.
Depending on your needs, training may include:
- Understanding typical, problematic and harmful sexual behaviours
- Recognising and responding appropriately to PHSB
- Practical strategies for prevention and early intervention
- Applying learning to real-world scenarios and practice
- Supporting staff confidence and wellbeing
- Accessing relevant resources, supports and referral pathways
- Understanding approaches for in-service training – adult learning, reflective practice, managing group dynamics
Strengthen your child safeguarding environment
Access practical support to review your education or service environment through a child safeguarding environmental audit. This evidence-based audit was developed and is owned by the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Sexual Violence Prevention and Research Unit (SVPRU).ops for your NSW school or service
The process can help your organisation identify existing strengths, potential gaps and practical opportunities to strengthen child safeguarding within your own setting.
Bright Futures NSW can support your team to use the audit as a practical tool for reflection and continuous improvement.
Connect, learn and share practice
Join our free monthly online Community of Practice to build knowledge, discuss real-world challenges, share ideas and resources, and connect with other educators across NSW.
Sessions provide a safe and respectful space to learn from others, explore emerging issues and strengthen practice in preventing and responding to problematic and harmful sexual behaviours.
Partnerships
Resources for this project are developed by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation with the support of the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, in collaboration with Early Childhood Australia and a range of subject matter experts, educators and young people.
