Now in its 20th year, The Daniel Morcombe Foundation welcomes Queensland Premier David Crisafulli’s commitment to introducing “Daniel’s Law”, a crucial step toward strengthening child protection laws in the state.
Bruce and Denise Morcombe have long advocated for tougher measures to monitor convicted child sex offenders and believe this initiative will provide greater security for children and families.
“For 20 years, we have campaigned for stronger protections for children, and we support Premier Crisafulli’s commitment to making Daniel’s Law a reality,” said Bruce Morcombe. “Queenslanders deserve a system that prioritises child safety over protecting the identities of convicted predators.”
“This is about giving families the right to access information that can help keep their children safe,” added Denise Morcombe. “We have always believed that awareness is key to prevention, and we support any initiative that strengthens child protection.”
Empowering Communities Through Education and Resources
Beyond advocating for stronger laws, the Daniel Morcombe Foundation is dedicated to educating children, supporting survivors, and equipping communities with the tools needed to keep kids safe.
The Foundation provides free child safety education programs, resources, and training to schools, parents, and carers across Australia. These include:
- Keeping Kids Safe – A free online learning platform for parents and teachers.
- Australia’s Biggest Child Safety Lesson – Interactive lessons teaching children how to recognise unsafe situations.
- Support for Victims and Families – Financial assistance and counselling services for child abuse survivors.
