Every Conversation Matters:
Shifting Conversation to Action

At the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, we believe that every child in every community needs a fair go and that begins with making their safety a national priority.
In 2025, we proudly support National Child Protection Week and its powerful theme: Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action. This yearโs message recognises that while open, honest conversations are essential, true progress happens when we move beyond words and take real steps to create safer environments for children.
This yearโs theme calls on all of us to go further, to do more than just talk about safety. Whether itโs starting a conversation at home, delivering a lesson in the classroom, or advocating for change in your community, every action, big or small, makes a difference. That’s where our educational resources come in.
Free Educational Resources for Teachers and Parents:
Keeping Kids Safe
As National Child Protection Week approaches, we invite you to use these engaging, age-appropriate resources designed for use in classrooms and homes across Australia and support a holistic approach to personal safety education. The Keeping Kids Safe and Donโt Waste It resources were developed in memory of Daniel Morcombe to help protect other children and young people from harm.
Whatโs included:
- Parent and carer resources to continue important safety conversations at home
- Early years to year nine educational videos and interactive activities
- Teacher guides for confident classroom delivery
Why It Matters:
By using the Keeping Kids Safe and the Donโt Waste It resources, schools and families across Australia are not only raising awareness but actively creating safer spaces where children feel protected, valued, and heard. In Donโt Waste It Bruce Morcombe encourages you not to waste your pain, tell your stories.
Together we can shift from conversation to action and honour Danielโs legacy by turning intention into action and making a lasting impact on the safety of young people across our nation.
