National Child Protection Week

At the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, we believe that every child in every community needs a fair go and that begins with making their safety a national priority.

This yearโ€™s theme calls on all of us to go further, to do more than just talk about safety. Whether itโ€™s starting a conversation at home, delivering a lesson in the classroom, or advocating for change in your community, every action, big or small, makes a difference. That’s where our educational resources come in.

Don’t Waste It: The Daniel Morcombe Story, 2025

As National Child Protection Week approaches, we invite teachers and school leaders to take action in preventing and responding to harmful sexual behaviours in children and young people.

The Understanding and Responding to Harmful Sexual Behaviours Training Modules are designed to build your knowledge, capacity, and skills to identify and respond effectively. They have been co-designed with direct input from teachers and school leaders, alongside experts from the ACCP in partnership with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and Catholic Education Western Australia. They provide practical, evidence-based strategies you can apply immediately in your school context.

  • Free and self-paced online learning
  • 21 days access from enrolment
  • 6โ€“8 hours to complete
  • Downloadable certificate upon completion

Why It Matters

Small, consistent actions like enhancing staff and leadership knowledge and agency can create a powerful ripple effect that keeps students safe. This training will help you recognise early signs, respond appropriately, and contribute to safer school environments.

From conversation to action, every child deserves to feel safe.
