Day for Daniel 2026 Education Support Fund Promotion – Terms and Conditions

Day for Daniel 2026 – $10,000 Education Support Fund Incentive 

1. Promoter 
The promoter is Daniel Morcombe Foundation Inc ABN 35 086 611 943 of 7 Koorawatha Lane, Palmwoods QLD 4555 (Promoter). 

2. Competition Type 
This competition is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. 

3. Competition Period 
The competition opens at 12:01am AEST on Thursday, 23 April 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on Thursday, 29 October 2026 (Competition Period). 

4. Eligibility 
Entry is open to Australian primary schools, secondary schools, early learning centres and OSHC services (each an Eligible Organisation). Entries must be submitted by an authorised representative aged 18 years or over on behalf of the Eligible Organisation. 

5. Exclusions 
Individuals or organisations whose primary purpose is not the delivery of education are not eligible to enter.  Employees, contractors and immediate family members of the Promoter may not enter in a personal capacity. 

6. How to Enter 
To enter, an Eligible Organisation must, during the Competition Period: a. complete and submit the official Day for Daniel registration form on the Promoter’s website, or update its details using the official update process if it has previously participated; and b. when prompted within the registration process, answer the competition question in no more than 1,000 characters, including spaces: “How will your school, early learning centre or OSHC service take part in Day for Daniel and ensure as many students as possible engage with child safety learning?” Entries must include all information required by the Promoter. Entries that exceed the character limit may be deemed invalid. 

7. Entry Limit 
Only one (1) entry is permitted per Eligible Organisation. If more than one entry is received from the same Eligible Organisation, the Promoter may determine which entry is the valid entry for judging. The Promoter may elect to treat the most recent valid entry received during the Competition Period as the final entry. 

8. Entry Requirements 
Each entry must: a. be submitted during the Competition Period; b. comply with these Terms and Conditions; c. be original and prepared by, or with the authority of, the Eligible Organisation; d. not contain anything unlawful, misleading, defamatory, offensive or inappropriate; and e. not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any third party. 

9. Prize 
There is one (1) prize to be won: One $10,000 Education Support Fund. The prize is awarded to the winning Eligible Organisation, not to an individual person. 

10. Judging Criteria 
All valid entries will be judged on their merits against the following criteria: Student Reach & Engagement – 40% Alignment with child safety principles – 25% Creativity & engagement approach – 20% Feasibility & clarity of execution – 15% 

11. Judging Process 
Entries will be reviewed by a judging panel appointed by the Promoter and led by Bruce and Denise Morcombe. The valid entry receiving the highest total score will be awarded the prize. 

12. Judging Date 
Judging will take place on 12 November 2026 at a time and location determined by the Promoter. 

13. Tie-Break 
If two or more entries receive the same highest score, those tied entries will be re-assessed by the Day for Daniel Project Lead of Daniel Morcombe Foundation against the same judging criteria. The tied entry that receives the highest score on re-assessment will win. No random draw or chance-based method will be used to decide a tie. 

14. Winner Notification 
The winner will be notified by email on 13 November 2026, or as soon as reasonably practicable after judging is completed. 

15. Winner Response Period 
The winner must respond within 14 days of being notified and provide any information reasonably required by the Promoter to verify eligibility and facilitate payment of the prize. 

16. If the Winner Does Not Respond or Is Ineligible 
If the winner does not respond within the required 14-day period, is found to be ineligible, or is otherwise unable to accept the prize in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter may award the prize to the next highest-scoring valid entry. If required, this process may be repeated until a valid winner is confirmed. 

17. Transfer of Funds 
The prize will be paid by electronic funds transfer to the winning school’s nominated bank account, or to another account held in the name of the school or its authorised P&C Association, as accepted by the Promoter. Payment will be made within 28 days of the Promoter verifying the winner’s eligibility and receiving all information reasonably required to facilitate payment. 

18. Prize Conditions 
The prize: a. is not transferable to an individual staff member, parent or third party; b. is not exchangeable for another prize; and c. must be accepted in the name of the winning Eligible Organisation. 

19. Public Announcement 
The winning school’s name may be announced on Daniel Morcombe Foundation social media after the winner has accepted the prize and eligibility has been verified. 

20. Verification 
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and the eligibility of entrants, including the authority of the person submitting the entry and the details of any nominated receiving account. If the Promoter cannot verify an entry or entrant to its reasonable satisfaction, the entry may be deemed invalid. 

21. Invalid Entries 
The Promoter may disqualify any entry that is incomplete, late, misleading, fraudulent, offensive, plagiarised, non-compliant with these Terms and Conditions, or otherwise unsuitable for judging. 

22. Intellectual Property 
Entrants retain ownership of the intellectual property in their entry. By entering, each entrant grants the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, publish and communicate the entry for the purposes of administering the competition, announcing the winner, and promoting Day for Daniel and the Promoter’s charitable activities. 

23. Privacy 
The Promoter will collect personal information in connection with this competition for the purposes of conducting the competition, communicating with entrants, verifying eligibility, administering the prize and announcing the winner. By entering, entrants consent to that use of their personal information. 

24. Technical Issues 
The Promoter is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, incomplete or corrupted entries, or for any technical malfunction, network failure or other issue affecting the entry process, except to the extent liability cannot be excluded by law. 

25. Promoter’s Decision 
The Promoter’s decision, including all judging decisions, is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

26. Variation or Cancellation 
If this competition cannot run as planned for any reason beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter may vary, suspend or cancel the competition, subject to any applicable laws. 

27. Governing Law 
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
