2020 Champions

The Day for Daniel Champion Program is an initiative that unites people who are passionate about child safety and protection, to assist the Daniel Morcombe Foundation in creating awareness of our national day of action for child safety awareness, Day for Daniel.
The team below dedicate their time to assisting the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and help us to reach more children around Australia with important personal safety messages.

Sean Follows
Day for Daniel Champion
“As a parent and current serving police officer in WA, I hold a very high regard for child safety. Along with the Foundation, it is important to provide parents and educators the tools and resources necessary for keeping kids safe.
Being a part of the Champion Program is important to get the message to children that the resources are available to assist them in all aspects of safety and self-preservation.”

Zara Butt
Day for Daniel Champion
“I work for the Department of Justice in WA and have three primary-aged children. I became a Champion to support the Foundation’s vision of a future where children are free from abuse and risk of harm. It is so important for children and adults to be educated on child safety and to be empowered to ‘Recognise, React and Report’.
Day for Daniel is a lasting legacy to Daniel and it is fantastic to see the community come together for a fun event that raises awareness.”

Peter Williamson
Day for Daniel Champion
“I was a Day for Daniel ‘Champion’ in 2015 and was able to successfully liaise with educational providers in my area and support them in their involvement in this child safety program. I welcome another opportunity to be directly involved in this excellent initiative.”

Robyn Partridge
Day for Daniel Champion
“Children are very vulnerable in so many ways without them realising it. I would like to do all that I can to ensure all children are as safe and protected as possible by having some simple strategies to use if they should ever be in need. I believe it needs to be a community effort to keep our children safe.”

Eileen Roberts
Day for Daniel Champion
“As a parent of four and a grandmother of six, I believe child protection is the responsibility of everyone in the community: parents, grandparents, extended relatives, neighbours, schools, governments, businesses and the general public. Each child has the right to a safe environment so that they live with confidence, security and happiness regardless of their background. We also need to educate each child, so they are comfortable reporting any scenarios that make them feel scared or unsure whether it be at home or away from home. Ultimately, I want my grandchildren, their children and all future child generations to be safe.”

“I was living in Noosa at the time of Daniels disappearance and had children of a similar age so it resonated with me. I have followed Denise & Bruce Morcombe’s selfless journey over the years and I would love to do what I can to help them raise awareness. ”
